Road trip with your dog Checklist

All right, here we go…

This being my first attempt at writing a blog, let me give a background of who are are. We are a family of four – my husband, myself and our 2 sons – 12 year old and 2 year old, just that the 2 year old one is a Labrador. So if you are planning your next road trip along with your pet, buckle up your seat belts and keep reading for lots of amazing info to help you sail through.

I strongly believe in planning and as part of that always have a travel checklist on my phone. Even before we got a pet, we had one for ourselves. Will post that soon ..

Turbo’s road travel checklist

  • Ensure vaccinations are up to date
  • First aid medicines, vet phone number
  • Food – make sure you pack enough to last for the entire trip duration. No new food during travel. When we travel with fresh wet food, we carry it in ice box (available in amazon).
  • Pet treats
  • Anti anxiety calming oil/ spray – in case your pet is not used to long travels and gets anxious. We have HUFT calming mist handy with us, though did not need to use it as Turbo is used to long drives.
  • Car seat cover, to prevent your car from getting soiled.
  • Pet wipes
  • extra spare leash, towels, shampoo – in case you are on a beach vacation
  • collar with pet parent phone number
  • poop scooper, old newspapers
  • comfortable blanket or bedsheet, which your pet is used to
  • Water bottle and bowl in the car – easily accessible
