Of all the places in the Philippines, Why Davao? This was one of the many questions that my friends asked me when I booked this trip. Okay, so here are my answers that will convince you to book a ticket right away=D! Firstly, because I like to experience how it feels to be in the 3rd safest city in the world. Secondly, because it is the hometown of our President. Lastly, because I want to go beaching in Samal, surf at Dahican beach, and ride an ultralight plane in Mati. Davao is a huge place. You will surely never run out of activities and places to experience.
We (with Joemar and his sister Joey) arrived at Davao International airport equipped with confidence and a little knowledge about the place. Continue reading →
Another year ends, but another year of travel begins. While some are busy preparing for noche buena, I was in my room packing my bag and thinking what would it be like to ride a wave for the first time. Yay! I want to find out why everybody is so in love with surfing. Why everyone says it’s addictive? Why everyone keeps on coming back to Siargao Island? And all these questions will be answered on this post.
From the astonishing beaches of Coron, who would have thought that there’s also a piece of Africa in this place? Months before this trip, I made a thorough research about the activities and the must see places. I read several blogs and found out that going to this island is expensive. Yes, it is! This trip costs 2,500 with breakfast, lunch, and snacks. But I promise this is worth the splurge. After all, you can always make money but you can’t always make memories. =D Ok. So moving on.. We scheduled this trip on our day 3 of stay and I got so excited to finally see a giraffe and a zebra in person for the first time. I haven’t been to any Zoo and I am not a fan of Zoos. I don’t like it when animals are kept in cages but here in Calauit Safari Park, they roam freely.
Coron has a lot of extraordinary island hopping spots, so I got confused on what tour package to choose. All the places here are so beautiful that I wanted to visit all of them in just 1 day. If only I had enough money, I will stay here longer.:) We opted for the “Ultimate Island hopping tour” which includes a visit to Siete Pecados, Kayangan Lake, Beach 91, CYC Beach, Barracuda Lake, and Twin Lagoon. It actually hurts a little inside to miss some of the destinations (Malcapuya Island, Banana Island, etc.) but it’s okay, I gotta go back someday. 🙂
Coron has been popular with tourist and local travelers, and it is easy to recognize why. The place is blessed with excellent dive locations, stunning limestone rock formations, clean lakes, close to perfect white sand beaches, good food/friendly people, and of course the beautiful mountains.
Palawan is the country’s cleanest and most peaceful city. I have witnessed that during my 4 days stay in Coron. It has been dubbed the “last ecological frontier” in honor of it’s unique ecological balance. It has a land area of 1.5 million hectares, composed of 1,780 islands and islets, and subdivided into 23 municipalities. One of these municipalities is Coron which is located in the Calamianes Group of islands in Northern Palawan.

Who would not want a taste of Amsterdam? Yes, you read it correctly. A mini Amsterdam located in Sirao, Cebu City. I was amazed with the awe-inspiring beauty of nature shared by a friend on social media and I found out that it was just few minutes away from the city. So together with my friends, we went to Sirao. At first, we were hesitant because we heard that it will be harvested on that same day. But there’s no harm in trying, they said.:) After few minutes of travel, we arrived in the place and saw the 5000sq meters celosia farm. Entrance fee is P20 and you can picture all you want. And please..be careful not to step on the flowers.
On top of my travel list is the powdery white sand beach and the famous destination for relaxation. Boracay Island! Boracay is separated in three stations. The station 1 is where the famous Mama Mary is located and is less crowded. Station 2 is for party goers. Station 3 is an underdeveloped paradise. Expect a long walk if you want to go sightseeing on the 3 stations.
